National Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 to October 15 each year. We’re delighted to have such a diverse community of influencers in The Network Niche including Hispanic members. They do a superb job year-round of celebrating their backgrounds and using their voices to share culturally relevant stories. Hispanic Hertigate Month is a great time to showcase and celebrate your Hispanic heritage with your readers.
Here are five creative ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on your blog and social channels.
1. Create a list of your favorite Hispanic influencers.
Hispanic influencers are among the most diverse in our community. Hispanic and Latino Americans trace their roots to countries that were colonized by Spain and continue to use Spanish as the official language. Those countries include Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, and others.
Within our own influencer network, our Hispanic bloggers cover many niches. From parenting bloggers, inter-racial family bloggers, travel bloggers, bilingual bloggers, lifestyle, and recipe bloggers, the topics and their diversity creates a beautiful backdrop to explore cultural diversity.
Look around the blogosphere and even in our community’s Facebook group to celebrate Hispanic and Latino influencers and bloggers you follow.
2. Collaborate with Hispanic influencers on a project.
Hispanic Heritage Month is a great opportunity to collaborate with other Hispanic influencers. You could collaborate on a recipe hop, holiday crafts, or ideas. Dia de los Muertos, celebrated October 21 to November 2 by many Hispanics, is a great opportunity to showcase how each family or region celebrates the holiday. Consider doing a roundup with fellow Latino influencers on the holiday.
You can showcase the creativity of altars among each home, costumes, Hispanic candies, and even films that celebrate the holiday.
For example, fifteen ways to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos is a great, SEO friendly blog post. Collaborative projects like this do well on Pinterest with a roundup image or photo collage.
3. Create a calendar of local Hispanic Heritage Month events
The Smithsonian Latino Center has a full calendar of Events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. You can also check your local city calendar for events. Or why not create your own for your readers? Reach out to your local public relations contacts to see if their clients are hosting Hispanic Heritage events.
Is your local library featuring Hispanic authors?
Is your local farmer’s market or grocery store featuring Hispanic recipes or ingredients?
Is your neighborhood cultural center hosting events celebrating Hispanic heritage?
A graphic with dates, times and descriptions of events would do well on Facebook and Instagram especially. Don’t forget to use the #HispanicHeritageMonth hashtag.
4. Showcase your favorite Hispanic recipes.
There are so many layers and differences within the Hispanic community when it comes to food. There are countless varieties from Mexican to Columbian to even regional favorites in Hispanic restaurants. Share original and authentic recipes with your readers. Showcase your favorite desserts, cocktails, and family-friendly dishes.

Even in 2018, there are history-making “firsts” who have Hispanic heritage. Ask them about the lessons they’ve learned along the way and obstacles they’ve overcome.
