Vianney Rodriguez, native of Aransas Pass, Texas, is a recipe developer at Sweet Life regularly contributing to New Latina, Latina Bloggers Connect and Multicultural Familia. Growing up Vianney wanted to be a teacher and fulfilled her dream in the early 90’s. After she had children she decided to stay at home and home school…so I guess you can say she is still teaching!
The Niche Mommy wanted to find out more about Vianney and couldn’t wait to share with our network.
Niche Mommy (NM): What influenced you to start blogging and why?
Vianney Rodriguez (VR): I began my blog as a creative outlet for my love of cooking, to document my family heritage and have a space my children could turn to in the future for family recipes.
NM: If they made a movie of your blog, which actress would you want to play you?
VR: OMG, blushing an actress never I would LOVE Nigella Lawson to play my role, LOL!
NM: What on your resume are you most proud of?
VR: Being chosen as a Top Latina Blogger and given a chance to head to Washington DC.
NM: How do you spend your free time?
VR: I love to spend my free time reading cookbooks, browsing antique stores for props or enjoying local festivals that feature local Texas food.
NM: What do you think is your biggest hurdle?
VR: Time
NM: What’s on your bucket list for 2012?
VR: Improve my camera skills, widen my recipe index and write..write..write.
NM: What’s your cure for writer’s block?
VR: I take a break. I work on a new recipe or take my kids to the park and revisit the article later in the evening.
NM: Who is your Shero and why?
VR: There are so many Zarela Martinez, Fany Gerson and Patti Jinich. They inspire me, focus on keeping the Mexican kitchen heritage alive and pour their soul into their work.

VR: PC
