While our network typically connects bloggers with large brands like HP, McDonald’s and Home Depot we know that bloggers often work with small and growing businesses. When a small business opens, its marketing expertise may be limited. By reaching out to local bloggers and micro influencers, small businesses can reach targeted audiences. To show you how this works, here are Three Creative Ways Bloggers and Small Businesses Can Work Together.
1. In-Store Events
When small businesses open a brick & mortar location, members of the media, journalists, and bloggers are invited.
Before our 2014 conference, we partnered with a Piece of Cake in Atlanta and other locations to present the with Elf of the Shelf birthday product line.
Our group of influencers created social content and received products to review.
Since our community is spread out across the country, we have partnered with brands for in-store events and experiences in Chicago, New York, and Orlando. Product demonstrations and taste testings are popular ways for bloggers to experience what a small business offers then share what they’ve learned.
Small businesses can track the results through a designated hashtag for in-store events, create coupon codes and exclusive promotions with an in-store event where it partners with bloggers.

2. Product Reviews
Small businesses often send products to bloggers to experience and document online.
While the compensation is often only made with products, a small business can feature a favorable product review on its website and social media. With an adequate Facebook marketing budget, a small business can also pay to boost a blogger’s product review to drive traffic to the blog and expand the reach of the post.

Bloggers are also hired as social media managers for brands. For a small business owner who’d like to focus on their products, inventory, and growth – outsourcing social media marketing to a blogger can be beneficial.
As content creators, we stay up-to-date on successful strategies and tools. Bloggers notice what’s trending and how to spark engagement. Many social media managers know the best tracking tools for sales from social media.
As a blogger, have you ever reached out to a new and growing small business to see if it needs help with social media?
