Blog name(s): http://www.NylonPink.tv & http://www.Nomlist.com
What inspired you to start a blog? How would you describe your blog niche?
I used to be the lead singer in an all-girl rock band and when we disbanded, we had the domain www.NylonPink.tv, which has some authority and traffic and we didn’t know what to do with it. We had developed a passion for traveling so my lead guitarist and I pivoted our website into a travel/lifestyle blog
Tell us about a typical workday as a blogger. What time do you stop/start your workday? How do you balance family and blogging?
Every day is different! Sometimes we are traveling, generally about once every two months internationally. We both love traveling and we both love being at home, so we needed to find a balance there. Last year, we were traveling once a month internationally and it was too much!
I used to be a workaholic who worked every second that she was awake, seven days a week but now I have healthy boundaries. I do about 6-8 hours of work a day and take the weekends entirely off. The day can include writing new content, editing videos and photos, pitching to editors and producers (I also freelance and host travel segments on tv)
Why did you join The Network Niche? What has been your favorite brand partnership with our influencer network?
I joined Network Niche because they have created a community of influencers and brands that I wouldn’t normally have access to.
My favorite campaign with The Network Niche is hands down the one with American Standard! They make the Japanese style bidet toilet seat and I am still using mine today. I’ll never live without one again, it changed my life. I can’t stand when I go to a hotel and don’t have a bidet!
My dream partnership is working with brands that align with our vision and trust our content creating abilities enough for us to take free rein on creating stunning imagery and video for the campaign and allow us to tell the brand’s story in a unique way. One of my favorite recent partnerships was with The Four Seasons Koh Samui and I can’t wait to partner with more Four Seasons properties around the world!
What’s the next big project you’re working on? What do you want to accomplish by the end of the year?
We are gaining a lot of traffic on our new site http://www.Nomlist.com so that is our focus for this year! Also launching a new travel-based Youtube channel and speaking more about wellness and travel sustainability at various conferences around the world.
Next up I am speaking at STS in a couple of weeks in Ravenna! https://thesocialtravelsummit.com/conference/speakers/
What’s your advice for someone who’d like to launch a brand new blog? If you could change something about your blogging journey, what would you do differently?
Just start! Don’t wait until you learn everything, you’ll learn by doing! Also, learn, learn, learn and never stop gathering knowledge. I found gurus such as Spencer Haws and the guys from Authority Hacker, Brian Dean and listen to all their podcasts and read every single thing that they put out.
If I could change something about my blogging journey I would have found my niche much sooner (luxury wellness travel) rather than being vague and broad.
Where do you see yourself and your blog in 5-10 years? Hosting my own travel tv show!
What’s your favorite spot to visit in your city and why? So hard to narrow down but I just love West Hollywood. It’s becoming more and more of a walkable city and I can walk to my pilates class, grocery store, go to Melrose Blvd, and some of the best restaurants in the city!
