How to Make Your End of the Year Blogging Goals a Reality

By the time October and November roll around on your calendar, you may feel like you haven’t reached your full potential as an influencer. Life can get in the way. Maybe you attended more conferences and events this year to expand your knowledge. For those of  you who work a full-time job and blog part-time, it’s a difficult balance. Don’t fear. There’s still time to rock things out before December 31st and make your end of the year blogging goals a reality.

Pitch Back

Before you delete an email that you assume is a boring press release, try to look at it differently. The email has a PR representative’s contact email address, phone number and address. You can reply with a thank you and a pitch back. If a sponsored post or product review isn’t a fit for them now, check back next quarter.

Collaborate

Team up with fellow bloggers for a project. Create a round-up of similar posts or a weekly theme. In your pitch to a brand or PR rep for a collaboration, note that you are part of a tribe of bloggers who all work on ideas together. Your individual page views may not seem significant, but when you add them with fellow influencers you can make a big impression.

Rock Your Holiday Gift Guide

We heard from community members who said holiday pitches landed in their inbox in July. Yes, July.

This is the perfect time to feature products your audience will love to shop for this holiday season. Depending on your blog’s traffic, a brand may only want to collaborate on a product review vs. a sponsored post. Ask if you can also include affiliate links to purchase the product on Amazon. Affiliate links allow you to earn a sales commission without selling the product yourself.

We also created a Holiday Gift Guide featuring products sold by our community members.

Look Ahead to the New Year

Calendars, goals, productivity, fitness and diet are all hot New Year’s topics for blog posts. Can you create an inspiring product to sell to your readers or provide a free download to build your email list?

Be honest. Show your audience what your house looks like at the end of year vs. what you’d like it took like in January.
