Like any aspect of marketing, blogging niches change and grow. Approximately ten years ago, Mommy Blogs were hot and making headlines. Shortly thereafter, Coupons Blogs were incredibly popular due to the suffering U.S.economy and the popularity of TLC’s TV show, Extreme Couponing. Fast forward to the growth of Instagram where Fashion Bloggers found their footing with a photography magazine style. Facebook video became a hotbed for Food Blogs to create delicious how-to and recipe videos. If you feel like you’re lost in the crowd of thousands of Food Bloggers or Fashion Bloggers, here are a few ways to easily stand out in your blogging niche.
How to Stand Out in a Crowded Blogging Niche
“Niche down”
To niche down means to get even more specific on your blog’s content focus. Many mommy blogs and daddy blogs have evolved to get even more personal and reflective of their family’s lifestyle. We’ve noticed more parenting bloggers are focusing on heartfelt topics including homeschooling, meal planning, family travel, and family finances.
Although these all fall into the overall umbrella of parenting, they address specific aspects of parenting. If you find that any of these niched down topics are increasingly popular with your audience, create an e-book, an e-course course or a free download on the topic.

Grow Your List
Marketers know that their email list members are often their most devoted fans. The people on your list agree to get your emails, open them and hopefully share them.
While creating blog content is a constant demand, if you feel like your niche is flooded and it’s hard to stand out – spend more time on your email list.
Create better headlines, write content that’s newsletter-exclusive, invite more people to join your list. Survey your followers and see what they want more of from you.
If your list has a dedicated following, great open rate or another amazing statistic, mention this to a PR or marketing representative in your next pitch.

For example, create a video series that walks viewers through your closet. Create a video showing how your travel to thrift stores and markdown sales to find gems.
Brands are asking for Instagram stories and styled Instagram videos.

Focus your attention on a platform where you see great engagement.
Although we just pointed out that IGTV is growing, Facebook Video creators are also gaining traction by monetizing their videos on Facebook.
YoutTube continues to be a powerhouse for getting views through search and it’s monetizing options for channels with more than 1,000 subscribers.
If you’re a meme-making or meme-sharing pro, those types of posts also do well on Facebook.
